Wilsonton State School 2020

QBuild, superintendent for the Department of Education, engaged Kelly Group of Companies to re-roof A Block at Wilsonton State School in Toowoomba. This project was run concurrently with Coolnwynpin State School where both jobs operated under critical completion time frames in the school holidays. The double-storey building required a full height scaffold to the perimeter for safe access and to facilitate continuous work-in-progress.

Due to the proximity of the Toowoomba Airport an application was lodged, prior to commencement, for clearance to use a 40 tonne crane for the roof height. High winds over the course of the job proved to be challenging and required additional labour to carry roof sheets. Efficient scheduling and management by our project manager to coordinate the asbestos hygienist and tradesmen enabled Kelly Group to successfully complete the re-roof within the allocated timeframe.
