Coolnwynpin State School 2020

Coolnwynpin State School required a full roof replacement to Amenities Block 1, Admin Block and I Block (library) valued over $300k. The generic PS78 roof design has been widely used across Department of Education buildings. Kelly Group has extensive experience re-pitching this generic design from 1°  to 4°  pitch to improve the roofing system.

Scope of works, for completion in 25 days, involved a structural re-pitch to all 3 buildings, installation of new KLIP-LOK 700 colorbond sheets and installation of OG 450 gutter, fascias and soffits to full extent of buildings. Six air-conditioner units on the administration building and one on I block required relocation from roof to ground.

Managing the sequence of works was key, carefully coordinating relevant trades to enclose the exposed roof cavity after removal of air conditioner units. Critical care was given to ensure that essential communications technology was not impacted/ damaged so that staff working remotely would continue to have uninterrupted access to the school server and IT communication services.
